MLTAF Meets with Archives

Director of the Foundation, together with members of the MLTA Board, met with Dr. Papenfuse, Mr. Tim Baker and the staff of the Archives to discuss how we could work with the Archives to discuss the preservation of the land records and how the Foundation could assist in the process.

Foundation Funds Summer Intern

The Foundation funded a summer Intern at the Maryland Archives this year on a special project. The summer intern used land records and the MDLANDREC system to conduct in depth research on slave ownership and slave communities along the Potomac River under the guidance of the Legacy of Slavery Staff.
